To become an Accredited Partner, PCAF reviewed NTT DATA’s GHG emissions visualization platform, C-Turtle, to confirm their application and alignment of PCAF’s methodology. With this accreditation, NTT DATA will further enhance its support for financial institutions in emissions calculations, including those associated with financial activities. C-Turtle® supports data-driven tracking and disclosure, aligning with PCAF to drive standardization of GHG accounting in the financial sector.
"We are truly honored to become an Accredited Partner of PCAF,” said Shinsaku Minamida, Executive Manager Sustainability Services & Strategy Office, Consulting Sector, NTT DATA Japan. “Enabling companies through transparent, data-driven emissions information is key to achieving meaningful emissions reductions across entire supply chains. The same principle applies to emissions associated with financial activity: it is essential for financial institutions to accurately understand the actual emissions of their investees and borrowers, and to take concrete actions accordingly.”
This partnership also represents another important step in PCAF’s growing presence in Japan. PCAF Japan recently published its third annual report, showcasing the momentum in the community’s activities, expanded focus on Scope 3 Category 15 and capacity-building across the sector.
“NTT DATA brings the kind of expertise we look for in Accredited Partners such as advanced digital solutions, industry knowledge and a deep understanding of financial sector needs. By becoming an Accredited Partner, NTT DATA reinforces PCAF’s work in Japan, contributing to our goals of more rigorous GHG accounting, improved data quality, wider disclosure and greater alignment with international practices. This strengthens the tools and expertise available in the Japanese financial sector at a moment when PCAF Japan is gaining momentum and visibility.”
Bart van Lunteren, Accredited Partner Lead, PCAF.
About PCAF
The Partnership for Carbon Accounting Financials was launched globally in September 2019. Currently, more than 650 financial institutions have subscribed to the PCAF initiative. PCAF signatories work together to jointly develop the Global GHG Accounting and Reporting Standard for the Financial Industry to measure and disclose the greenhouse gas emissions associated with their financial activities. By doing so, PCAF signatories take an important step to subsequently assess climate-related risks, set climate targets and develop effective strategies to decarbonize their portfolios.
