PwC Joins the Global PCAF Accredited Partner Program

11th August, 2026 – The Partnership for Carbon Accounting Financials (PCAF) announces PwC as its newest Global Accredited Partner. Through the partnership, PwC will support financial institutions in measuring and disclosing greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions associated with financial activities using the PCAF Standard.

The partnership comes at a timely moment as financial institutions respond to increasing expectations around Scope 3 emissions and climate-related disclosures, including requirements linked to the International Financial Reporting Standards Climate-Related Disclosures (IFRS S2) by the International Sustainability Standards Board (ISSB)and the Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive (CSRD). Many organizations are moving beyond initial measurement efforts and focusing on implementation, governance, process automation, and assurance-ready reporting.

The partnership reinforces PwC's ability to support financial institutions in applying the PCAF Standard as part of a broader approach to risk management, decision-making, and sustainability strategy. PwC's capabilities span across emissions baselining, calculation engine development and automation, data governance, AI-enabled data management, target-setting, disclosure readiness, and independent assurance.

Lynne Baber, Global Sustainability Leader at PwC, said:

“PwC’s role as a PCAF Global Accredited Partner reinforces our commitment to helping financial institutions measure and manage emissions associated with financial activities in a credible, consistent, and decision-useful manner. Through our work in the measurement of emissions associated with financial activities, risk management, and assurance readiness, we help clients establish reliable data inputs, translate analysis into insights and identify actions that can inform portfolio management, climate strategy and operating model decisions.”

Bart van Lunteren, Accredited Partner Lead at PCAF, said:

"Financial institutions are increasingly looking to strengthen the quality, consistency, and transparency of emissions accounting across their portfolios. PwC brings extensive experience across measurement, data governance, reporting, and assurance, which will help financial institutions implement the PCAF Standard and advance high-quality GHG accounting and disclosure practices. PCAF's Accredited Partner Program is tailored to third-party companies, including consultancies, data providers, and software firms, that support financial institutions committed to using the PCAF Standard. Specifically, these partners assist in measuring and disclosing emissions associated with financial activities. Through the program, Accredited Partners and PCAF work together to support consistent, comparable, and high-quality disclosures.

About PCAF

The Partnership for Carbon Accounting Financials was launched globally in September 2019. Currently, 750+ financial institutions have subscribed to the PCAF initiative. PCAF signatories work together to jointly develop the Global GHG Accounting and Reporting Standard for the Financial Industry to measure and disclose the greenhouse gas emissions associated with their financial activities. By doing so, PCAF signatories take an important step to subsequently assess climate-related risks, set climate targets, and develop effective strategies to steer their portfolios.
