The PCAF Academy is where PCAF signatory financial institutions and partners come to learn how to measure and manage emissions associated with financial activities using the PCAF Standard. It’s designed to give signatories and accredited partners the knowledge and tools they need to measure and report emissions. It offers structured learning paths, certification opportunities, and practical guidance that help you stay competitive in a fast-changing financial landscape.
Because the industry evolves quickly, the Academy does too. PCAF has updated its training content to reflect new methodologies, guidance, and best practices in line with updates to the PCAF Standards. These updates make sure learners can upskill themselves on the new methods and that accreditation remains up to date and complete. The learning experience has also been improved with AI-based technology that makes training more engaging and accessible.
The latest update introduces new modules aligned with the updated PCAF Standard. This matters because the Standard now includes expanded methodologies for financed emissions and insurance-associated emissions. If you are new to the Academy, you will be automatically enrolled in the updated learning paths. If you already have access to the Academy, you will only need to complete the new modules to maintain your status.
The new content includes methodologies for Use of Proceeds Accounting, Sub-Sovereign Debt, Securitizations and Structured Products and Undrawn Loans Commitments in Part A. In Part C, which covers insurance-associated emissions, you will find new methods on Project Insurance and Treaty Reinsurance. Additionally, two new training modules are added on: Avoided Emissions and Forward-Looking Metrics.
Beyond updating the Academy with the new Standard, the Academy has been working on other updates. These include interactive videos and spoken content translation up to 35 languages using the innovative and AI-based Synthesia technology. This makes learning more engaging, inclusive and easier to navigate for a global audience.
Looking beyond these updates, all existing modules will also be refreshed in early 2026. These updates will focus on adding Synthesia’s language capabilities, improving layout and interactivity without changing methodologies or calculation methods. There will be no need to retake exams, so your current certifications remain valid.
If you are a signatory or accredited partner, you can start exploring the new modules today through the Academy platform. If you are not part of PCAF yet, this is a great time to join and gain access to training that positions your organization as a leader in sustainable finance.
